"Sweet" Prima Tea Thyme 12x12 Layout!

Hello everyone!

I have a 12x12 layout to share with you guys today! This is my LO that I'm submitting for the Prima BAP (Build A Page) for the month of October! It's my first time submitting a project to Prima!

I used their new "Tea Thyme" paper collection from the
6x6 pad and some coordinating embellishments.
I also used some of the embellishments from the "Nature's Garden" and flowers from older lines that I've had in my stash. Of course I also grabbed some of the BEAUTIFUL Wild Orchid Crafts flowers!!!

I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone with a little bit of mixed media...I never really do mixed media, but the collage and use of gesso and studio matte medium was something new I grabbed for this project!  One of the things I really loved about this project is that I made my own embellishment (a heart frame for the girls' picture)...I made a framed metal heart that I wrapped some strips of muslin around it and added gesso to it so it would have a shabby look to it! I didn't share it in the video because it was getting to be pretty long!'s the LO I made!

Here's the video with the tutorial!

You'll find a product list and some links to find them at the very end, thanks so much!

I used a 2-3 year old photo of my beautiful Anna and my beautiful niece Alissa! We went to L.A. to visit and headed out for a family day at the beach...I think it was at the Hermosa Beach! There was a very good seafood restaurant there and so we stopped to eat! The girls were just hanging out and Alissa grabbed Anna by the neck to hug her!
I'm so glad I snap pics at odd times...I can capture moments just like this one! These girls were the last 2 born to our family and we are so blessed to have them! Did you know that Anna was older, but Alissa can throw her! LOL They are only 2 weeks apart, that means Lisa and I were pregnant at the same time and I'm so glad that memory was created too! What a cool thing for sisters to be pregnant together right...and with girls!! awwww:)
They were about 15 in this photo:)

I hope you enjoyed this layout as much as I did! I tried to enclose lots of close up pics to share the detail! This was a fun LO to make and I'm glad I had a couple days to make it for myself!

Please let me know if you have any questions....I do try to mention everything in the video....this is why they are always a tad bit long, but I would rather that that leave you guessing, plus I love sharing what I know for those who are learning

Thanks to Prima for doing the BAP and PPP's!! It's a very cool opportunity to create and win some awesome products or be featured on your blog! (Which I was for this challenge month, yay!)!
I appreciate it!

Have an awesome day everyone!!

  1. What a beautiful layout. Your creativity always amazes me. Your work is just amazing I like the look of the cheese cloth and never thought about using gesso before. What did you do your layout on? was it 12 x 12 chipboard or just a piece of card stock? Blessings and love, Carol

    1. Hi Carole!!! :) Thank you so much for your sweetness my friend! I did, I collaged some of the Prima paper on a 12x12 American Crafts light yellow card stock and then cut 1/8" off all four sides to show off the gray 12x12 AC card stock I back the yellow one with!! SO there is a lot of paper layering! After the LO was all done, I put it on a 12x12 canvas to hang it on my wall! Blessings to you hon! (hey, I did email you back a few days ago....please tell me you got it?) xoxo, Jules:)
