Good day people!
I hope you're off to a great start to your day!
Todays' post is a new one for me, I've never made a wreath before and I am so glad I made one finally!
I have had this naked wreath in my stash for about a year and have wanted to alter it but just didn't have time for it. For the previous month of August, our "Wild Orchid Crafts" DT was given a challenge to create something to be a project inspired by Harvest/Fall elements and we needed to incorporate "natural" elements,
ie. skeleton leaves, raffia, burlap.....stuff like that!
So I remembered that I've wanted to create something using Corn Husks!!
Yes, Corn Husks!! why??...well why not!? lol

I grabbed a pack I had in my pantry.
This was so much fun to put together, I'll show ya the video of my creating it
now, then after, the pictures and product list!
I took these pictures outside to get some great natural light! It was later than I wanted but they came out ok.

I Love everything about the FALL season! The colors, the temperature...I don't like the wind here on this side of the state, but it's my home:)
Great Holidays just around the corner to create some new theme inspired projects and new memories with family and friends! I miss my family in Los Angeles terribly, but I thank God for them!!
(Please let me know if you have any questions ok, I'll get back to you as soon as I can!)

8- Olive Green Roses (FM-00228)

The Corn Husks can be found in packs at your local market in the Spanish food section! I soaked them so that the dirt can soften and would be easier to clean. I just washed them off and tossed them in the dryer and with some I did have to use a paper towel to get in the crevices so that I could glue them down and they would stay. I was ok with them being a little wet because it makes them more flexible! :)
Give it a try for your next Fall themed project!
I also used Burlap from my stash to make the hang loop at the top of my wreath, I just cut a strip and carefully sewed along the edges to keep it from fraying and falling apart. The Maya Road chipboard letters I used can be found here and the Hot Glue Gun Helper kit can be found here! Thanks!
Thanks for coming over, please leave a comment, I really do love to read them!
Have a great day!!
xo, Jules:)

This turned out beautiful! Love the texture the corn husks add and your floral arrangements are gorgeous! I just was watching some Martha Stewart show on the Hallmark Channel where she was making a wreath using dyed corn husks too! Very cool! :)
