Birthday Party invites and altered Starbucks bottles!

Hello everyone!

Today I wanna share some birthday party invites I made a couple weeks ago for Anna's 18th Birthday party!! Yeah...18, I'm still in denial! LOL

Anyhow, I had the 12x12 Primas "Nature's Garden" paper collection I wanted to use. I LOVED side A of the collection. Side B was a little too purple and gray for me, although the images were exquisite! :)
Thanks Jodie Lee for the awesome design! It's a favorite for sure!!  So I used this collection for the 12 invites and also used -3- 12x12 sheets I punched a border design on them for the cake and present table was so pretty!

I recycled 4 glass Starbucks bottles. I saved about 8 of them, but used 4 and they worked great for small flower arrangements on the cake table!

Let me apologize that I don't have the video tutorial for these, I really wish I could have had one but this was during the time when I had no internet and had 2 laptops in the shop and I was stressed. When I finally had some connection I did a search on Pinterest and found an awesome picture of a card that totally inspired me!!! AHHH, you guys, this lady is so talented, her name is Anne and her blog is mesmerizing!
You must visit her at "Anne's Paper Fun" she is a
designer for Wild Orchid Crafts Blog design team!
Her work is amazing! Thanks Anne!

Here's the video:

Here's the invites:

I made pink ones to give out to the girls and green ones for the boys...and 1 of the green ones was for me...

I decided to make pockets for tags that had the party info on it...
They slip right out...
You flip it over and the info is on the other side...
I almost didn't use the butterflies!!! I'm glad I did though!
I think they totally finish off the invites!
3 layers!!!! I LOVE!!
A little butterfly in the corner so it's not too plain....I think it works!:)

The bottles!! I used light green burlap to stamp a swirl on it
....ah, so sweet!
A butterfly I painted white with gesso and tied on the
neck with some cool hemp cord!
There's a bottle behind the basket...I bought it at Joann's and did a white wash on it to shabby it up, then wrapped some gathered streamer paper with lace and added a burlap flower I made! This paper looked great on the table and fit the little decor I had...just so shabby!

A closer look at the basket:

hands well between using different colors!!!*)

Here's how they turned out:

This is the blue one I did in the video...

I've loved these ribbons but not always had the time to make them, in which case I buy them. If you have a project that you are using a certain color on and want that ribbon to match it, this is the way to go!!

"White Washing" technique!

Hello everyone!

A quick tutorial on "white washing". I got several emails from viewers about how or what this is so I thought I would share with you guys!

It's a very easy technique, nothing to it, all you'll need is a white based paint or white gesso, a paint brush or spongy applicator and a paper towel or wipe and water (in a spray bottle)!

Here's my video on how to apply a white wash technique to your project!
Thanks for stopping, enjoy!

Please let me know if you have any questions about anything or a tutorial request...I have a list going so I will get to it as soon as I can!

Have a great day!

Crafty stuff on sale at "The Jule Box"......

Hello everyone!

Just an fyi on a couple things for you to know....I don't usually send these, but I know that not everyone is on FB and so not everyone sees the updates I post there! So, I'll try to do this every now and again! :)

1- I have several items on my "Glues and Mediums" post that are out of stock (OOS) and I will be restocking.....I have a shipment coming at the end of this week! So if you happen to put something in your cart (which you can view anytime by clicking on the "View cart" button on the right side of my blog just before the sales listings) and as you check out you notice it had dropped out, it may be because it's OOS. Ok!

2- I have added a few new item in that listing, like, embossing ink, UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel), a 6" brayer/roller, the pink ATG etc, take a peek here!

3- There are a few things any new customer should know in the "Store Policy" section (which is subject to change at anytime). One of the most important things I make sure to do is to remind people that shipping is billed separately after you order in every single sales post and once that is emailed, a reminder is scheduled to go out every 2 days...sometimes I miss a day and goes on a 3rd day, but either way, they keep coming until payment is received, but I do send a card via postal mail after the 3rd or so has been sent so I am sure you get notice somehow!

4- To all yahoo email account holders...Yahoo has a habit of sending any and all Paypal emails straight into Spam folders!! So you may never see even when I send reminders, this is what the card in the mail is for. So in this case once you know something has been sent and there is no record in your regular inbox, you may want to look in the Spam folder...AND if you don't see it there, you will have to go into your paypal account and you'll be able to look it up there!

5- As of today, there are just a few Prima stamps in the Clearance section I've added....sometimes I get 1-2 too many when I place orders:) hee hee

6- Just a reminder, I know some of you already know...but I do take custom orders! I have a detailed section in the "Store Policies" section! But just a quick note, I can most likely get any new released item or collection, they aren't considered new after 6 months since companies release collections about every 6-8 months, or annually! Older collections are pretty difficult to let me know if I can assist in that area!

This is about all I wanted to share, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!

May God Bless you and yours!

Best Wishes, Jules:)

"Starbucks Coffee Sleeve Recipe Book"!!

Hello everyone!

This project is my Wild Orchid Crafts November DT challenge. It is being posted late due to some technical issues I've been having, so I apologize...I also apologize that I don't have the video tutorial on it...the hard drive on my MAC gave out and I lost everything including the clips of my making it and a few other videos:(  It's getting replaced so I'll be on another computer with a different movie editing program for a little while. Needless to say, I'm a little sad, but the projects must go on! :)

Now to share my project! Our challenge was to create a recipe box....I stayed in the recipe theme, but made a little festive booklet instead!! So, I used 6 coffee sleeves from Starbucks and did a white wash to them along with edging them with gesso. I then used some Graphic 45 paper for the pops of color then embellished with tons of Wild Orchid Crafts products
(some are now discontinued, my apologies but I gotta use what I have)!
Links to most items will be listed after the pictures below and
I'll add other products I used as well!

Here is my intro video:
Thanks for peeking in!!

For those of you who don't know what these sleeves look like,
here it is before I altered them!!

Close up of the glitter!
Close up of this cute reindeer!
I used 7 Gypsies cable rings, these are very cool to use and look it too!
The inside pages are basically the same except that
I changed the LO of the elements:)
The backsides of the sleeves have a paper doily or 1/2 heart
with flowers and flourishes...then the fronts
of the pages have an oval matte (cut from G45 paper) then
a spellbinders die cut from white card stock where I did a stamped
collage on them of Christmas images then put up on dimensional foam stickers, lace behind it, a seam binding bow and poinsettias I put together!

Here's the 2nd page..
last page...
Close up's of the inside:
From the internet I found several recipe's of Starbucks Coffees
and printed them off onto white card stock.
I printed a few I've tasted and some I was wanting to try!

I added the titles on a banner die and
adhered them to the front of the booklet and on tabs
so I can see them and find them without
pulling them all out.
 Here's the inside!
Close ups:)
