A season of change.....

Hey everyone!

Hope your day is off to a great start!

It's a sunny day and the rays are streaming through my window this morning! It's about 6:30am!!
There's a new season of change coming into my life ...... it's a good thing and I'll be optimistic about it! :)

Over the last couple of years I've seen my kids slowly grow up, one has moved out to go to college....he's almost graduated and I'm a proud momma! My "baby" is now working and about to be a senior in high school...still, a proud momma! :)

Having had talks about paying off debt so we can travel, my hubby and I now find ourselves putting this off a little bit longer now that we've come across changes my parents are going through. They are a very healthy pair of short people! LOL!!
....but nevertheless, are older and slowing down. My mom is in her mid 70's and is as spunky as ever! But I find her falling asleep at her couch more often and going to bed earlier and earlier:) She's super darn cute when she snores though! My papa...?....well, he's slowed down a lot over the last few years. Now in his early 80's he's becoming forgetful and is harder of hearing. He was a Jockey back in the 50's and 60's and as a result of so many years of wear and tear on his joints and multiple accidents....his poor little bones hurt:(

I remember something I read when I was a little girl and kinda wondered what it meant back then, but now that things are happening and now that I'm older it's becoming more clear to me ...."Honor your Father and Mother, then you will live a long full life...."  this piece of scripture is found in Exodus 20:12, it means a lot to me and I want to do what is right! So if it means living with my parents to help them and help take care of them in their older years, then I'll do what I have to!:)

For now, my parents need me and in all actuality, I still need them too! :)

Over the last year we've discussed living together again, more over the last 2-3 weeks, so, we are. I'll be moving out of this house to be with my parents...along with my hubby and daughter. Yard sales have gone on and now some repairs need to be made. Once our bottom floor is ready , we'll start moving in...for now, I have to pack up stuff!! :)

Although I have issues physically, I'll do my best to be there for my parents like they've been there for me! They have been the most loving and most sacrificial people for their kids, as should be...as I've learned to be to mine. I hope for the best and that God will tie us closer together....I also hope and pray for grace....to stand tall no matter what happens and to make things easier for them as they relax a little more as we try to relieve some stressors by being there and taking care of things they used to so they don't have to worry about them. I'll be obedient to God and honor my parents only because.....well, I LOVE them! :)

So, with all that being said, what's gonna happen to my craft space and my love for it...????  Well, the show must go on people! :)

I'll be sharing a video of my new space once I'm all moved in (a before and after) and have things the way I want! I had promised to share my room here but since I never really felt at home here, I've moved things and changed things around and it was never really ready to show. But now that my time with Craft Warehouse is about over :( and I have a few weeks off from WOC, I'll have the time to get situated and set up my space how I want, making myself feel more at home in my new space!

As for "The Jule Box" shop..?...I'll still take orders, but just so you know it may take a day or two longer. It will be the last room to move so I can move it all together and focus on it, but I'll do my best to keep it moving smoothly.

I'll be in and out of Facebook but will have my email open and checking that daily, so let me know if you need anything!:) I hope to be able to watch some of you on you tube and read up on blog posts a little too.

As I go through this transition I'll ask my friends if they could send good thoughts my way, some prayers too if you remember, please.

See ya in a little while.....God Bless and thanks friends!

xo, Jules:)

  1. Jules, of course you must move in and help your parents out now that they are getting a bit older. You will get so much from this experience and your daughter will be the lucky one to have her grandparents so close. I know that you have become the wonderful daughter that your parents hoped they would be and although it may be difficult at times, please know (and I know you do) that you are doing the right thing. Wishing you wonderful thoughts and prayers as you embark on this new chapter of your life, Hugz....Kim

  5. This has brought tears to my eyes. For 2 reasons, I admire your love for your parents and I have lived where you are about to experience. My mother died 3 months ago, 5 years with Alztheimer's in a nursing home (she was 85) I slowly lost her day by day, but cherish my days of care taking of her. God showed me so many things, as I experienced a who new appreciation for all her sacrifices she made for all of us. My dad is 90. He needs me more and more each day. I'm am trying to honor him, as I did mom. One thing you might not have thought of. As you honor your parents, you are teaching your children how to honor you. God bless you as you start this new chapter in your life. One piece of advice- journal each day, your thoughts, your discoveries and your prayers. You'll be so glad you did.
    Sincerely,
    Cindy

  7. Hi Jules,

It is a blessing just to hear how you honor your parents!!! Many people forget what it means to honor your parents....it does not say to honor them if they are good parents, just to honor them no matter what!! That is where the blessing lies...in trusting in God's word!!

I know the Lord will bless you and your family abundantly!!

    Hugs and Love

  9. With tears in my eyes, I think of my Beautiful Mama after reading your story. Your mission now is to care of your parents. This is the path God wants you to take. Parents are precious. They need you now more than ever. Watching our parents go through the aging process is hard. But there will be so many precious moments~ so much laughter and sometimes tears, and at the end of the day when you tuck them in at night with your love, prayers and kisses your heart will be fullfilled. God will look down on you and smile. You're a loving daughter Jules and a wonderful friend. I remember how you were there for me after I lost my beautiful Mama, my tears, my heart full of pain that was never ending... my friend who helped me get through, and continues to help me. Thank you for being "you". I love you Jules. Velma

  12. Hello Jules, My wonderful Mother lived with us for 3 years before she died at age 82. I am so glad for those years even though they were hard at times because I was also ill. I wish she had moved in sooner. When we were looking for a house, it was my loving husband who thought about us needing a room on the first floor for my Mother. And, it is true, you are teaching your children how to treat you. I wish you well during this transition in your life. You are a good daughter.

  13. Short people are the best people, take it from me I am one, teehee.
As for helping take care of your parents I have been in your shoes.
I was my dad's care giver for years and he was very ill of health. He passed away 2 yrs ago next month.
Just some advice...remember to take care of you as well. Take time to enjoy the things that you love.
All my best to you and your family, hugs.

  14. Jules,
I applaud you for standing up and taking care of your parents as they get older. It is not an easy road and has many challenges to be sure. But I know the Lord will stand by your side and let you lean on him all that you need to. I did home health aide work for elderly ppl for years and I can not tell you the children I've seen that treat their parents like they were a burden and no longer needed. It would break the heart of the strongest man.
I also wanted to tell you about a FB page that helps ppl destash their stuff. It's called crafty steals with friends and it is a lot of fun. You need to be approved to get in. I am all ready friends with you on FB ( this is my page https://www.facebook.com/rosemary.jackson.127) so if you want to see what it's about let me know. I thought it might come in handy getting rid of some of your extra stuff.
I wish you many blessings on your newest journey and again commend you on being a wonderful daughter!

  15. Hey Jules! Just wanted to say how wonderful it is that you are moving in with your parents to help them. I have always known you have a heart of pure gold, so this doesn't surprise me. Your parents look so cute! LOL. I wish my mom was alive, I often wonder what she would look like now and what she would think about her baby girl being a mom. Anyway, cherish the time you have with your parents ( I know you will), I only had my mom for 16yrs. God Bless you and your family and I will add you all to my prayers. Big Hugs Luv!!!!
